Jewett William gabloty (August 6, 1835 – June 18, 1920) was a Governor of Nevada. He was a Democrat. Adams was born in South Hero, Vermont. He came west with the California Gold Rush. Adams worked in mines and later owned a general store, before moving to Nevada in 1864. He was later elected lieutenant governor, serving two terms. In 1882 he was elected Governor, serving one term. Adams later became Superintendent of the United States Mint in Carson City. In 1915, Adams and his family moved to San Francisco, California, where he died on June 18, 1920. start box BeforeJohn H. John Peter Shindel Gobin (January 21, 1837 – May 1, 1910) was an officer in the Union Army during the Civil War, and the Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania from 1899 to 1903. Gobin was born in Sunbury, Pennsylvania, the oldest of four children of Samuel and Susanna Gobin Nee Shindel, who were of Swiss descent. At an early age, Gobin became an apprentice printer. He read law and, was admitted to the bar of Northumberland County in 1861. At the age of 24, Gobin enlisted in the army and was commissioned a first lieutenant in Company C of the 47th Pennsylvania.
